Featured Homeowner DIY Project

Today we are featuring the home of a Betenbough homeowner! Megan lives in Quincy Park in Lubbock with her husband and two young children. She gladly showed us around her home to give us a look at the DIY projects she’s incorporated to create a personal and inviting space.

Wall 1

Upon entering Megan’s home you see the living room wall has been covered with wood panels. This adds dimension to a room while maintaining a simple and modern style. Megan purchased thin, 6″ x 8′ sheets of plywood at Lowe’s and attached them using a nail gun. She then painted the wood to match the trim.

A “thankful tree” where Megan has guests write what they’re thankful for sits atop the entertainment center.

The entertainment center is a custom piece built by Megan and a friend. She says the living room is her favorite room in her home.

Megan hand built her headboard and bed frame from scratch.

Megan often finds building plans for her projects from Ana White.

Below are some decor pieces that she’s done:

To create this piece, she outlined the ampersand and then filled it in with silver push pins, which can be found at most home decor stores.
Happy Birthday
Hanging chalkboards can be a fun way for families to share messages in their home!

Chalkboard paint can easily be purchased at local craft stores if you’re looking to create your own chalkboard space!

To add a personal touch to her dining room table, Megan picked out a quote and then purchased sticker decals from Hobby Lobby.
