Homes for Hope – Odessa

home site
The Homes for Hope home site is at 800 E. 92nd Street in North Park.

What is Homes for Hope and why do we feel led to partner with this organization for a third time? As a company we strive to make an impact both locally and globally and partnering with Homes for Hope not only allows us to help others around the world, but also provides a unique opportunity for our trade partners to do so as well.

By partnering with home builders around the nation, Homes for Hope is able to raise money to help people in impoverished areas break the cycle of poverty through business development. Here’s how the process works:

  • The nonprofit organization, Homes for Hope partners with residential home builders throughout the U.S. to construct homes in the builders’ local communities.
  • In order to maximize the profits from the home, numerous trade partners and suppliers come alongside the home builder to donate labor, materials and services to construct the home.
  • The home is sold to a local family and profits from the home benefit HOPE International, Homes for Hope’s primary Partner. HOPE International is a Christian organization working in some of the world’s poorest countries to help families escape poverty through business development such as microfinance.

HOPE International gives micro loans of around a few hundred dollars to entrepreneurs in impoverished areas. These entrepreneurs then start or improve an existing business which allows them to provide for their family, employ others and work their way out of poverty.
