Employee Spotlight, Nick Sandoval

We work with the best people on the planet and enjoy sharing about them on our blog! Today, we’re introducing you to Nick Sandoval, detail team leader in Odessa. Nick is from El Paso and has been with our team in Odessa for nearly two years. Let’s hear a little about him!

How long have you been with the company and what is your role within the company?

I’ve been with Betenbough Homes since May 2015 and currently oversee the final phase of the construction process, which is getting the home as close to perfect before presenting it to the home buyer.

Tell us a little about your family.

My wife is from Minnesota, but we met and we were married in El Paso. She enjoys outdoor activities like snowboarding, surfing, hiking, and ice skating. She is an amazing mother to our three boys and is my soulmate.

Clark and Zephyr

Zephyr is eight and in a dual language program at school. He also plays baseball and football. Clark is three and loves books, legos and swimming.

Sabra and Bennett

Bennett is one and on the verge of walking! He also loves playing with his big brothers.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love my time at home with my wife and kids. We have a lot of fun together, especially with our new pool. The kids want to swim everyday, but I also enjoy traveling, playing guitar, golf, and I dabble in woodwork.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

I love helping build up my teammates! Every new employee is so impressionable and I love being able to really help them grow, not just sharpening their skill set, but helping them grow as men. I like the sense of community and the emphasis on spiritual growth.

What sets this job apart from your past jobs?

Previously, I worked for my family’s company as a welder for 10 years. I worked alongside my uncles and cousins and comparing that job and where I’m at now – it’s worlds apart, but similar in a few aspects. The leadership at Betenbough Homes is phenomenal! They really pour into employees here and grow and build leaders from the ground up. So many resources are invested in our employees’ growth, and it’s truly amazing.

Like my past job, working for this company feels like working for family, but the difference is that before I was working alongside cousins, and at Betenbough Homes I’m working alongside brothers.
