As we look back on 2017, we can’t help but be thankful for the time we got to spend with our homeowners this past holiday season. We held Christmas Open Houses in Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland and Odessa and loved getting to see familiar (and some new) faces!
If you attended our events in Midland or Odessa, you might have noticed our gingerbread house. Today, we’re sharing how you can make your own for your kiddos or for a get-together next holiday season!
We thought a gingerbread house would be great for the kids to play while waiting in line for Santa and found this cedar playhouse on Walmart.com – it was perfect! Here it is under construction in our Midland office.
After the playhouse was complete, we searched for decorations to transform it. Hobby Lobby had so many great options this year with plenty of cute candy decor. They also had these unique ornaments that were flat on one side.
We thought these would be great to adorn the roof, so we got busy with the glue gun.
Soon after, it started to look like a gingerbread house!
After gluing on all of our candy ornaments and decor, we tied on two candy canes with pipe cleaners. Here is the finished product!
Let us know if you give this project a try and share your photos in the comments! We can’t wait to see everyone for our community events in 2018!
